Fifty cards, £399, and the Studio to run them.
The NF-CD is a real card your fans buy and tap with their phone. It opens your world: your music, videos and photos. No app, no account, nothing to do with crypto or NFTs. A modern CD, for the smartphone generation.
Buy a pack of 50, set your own price, and keep everything above what you paid. Sell them at gigs, on your socials, wherever your fans already are.
Case study. Charlotte Clarke's first NF-CD drop: 20 numbered units, sold out in 3 hours 36 minutes, to fans in five countries (UK, US, France, Germany, Switzerland), on a single social post. Launched 1 June 2026 at £19.95. See how her fans reacted: instagram.com/p/DZA5JXNiMrs
What £399 gets you
Free UK postage. Outside the UK we quote postage at cost for your address before you pay.
Your fans tap the card and land in a space you control. You choose what lives behind it, and you can change it after they have bought: new demos, tour footage, the things that never fit on a record.
How it works
- You order the pack. One payment of £399, VAT included. We make the fifty cards and post them to you.
- You sign in to your Studio. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. We set it up for you and send you the link.
- You curate your world. Your music, video and photos: whatever you want the card to open. You can change it later, including after your fans have bought.
- You sell to your fans. Your price, your fans, at gigs or online. Everything above what you paid for the pack is yours.
We are on the other end of an email at every one of those steps. We would far rather you asked us early than worked it out alone.
What you make
You set the price. Charlotte's fans paid £19.95. At that price, a pack of 50 looks like this:
You are back in profit after 20 cards. The other thirty are yours. Price them higher and that number falls again:
Illustrative examples, not a forecast.
Illustrative, and assuming every card sells at the price shown. You set your own price, so these are examples, not a forecast. Postage to your fans is on top and is yours to charge.
Why it is good value
Every pound your fans pay is yours. While your own turnover is under the £90,000 VAT registration threshold you add no VAT to what you charge and hand none over, so a £19.95 sale is £19.95 in your pocket against the £7.98 the card cost you. That is £11.97 a card, kept in full, on something you paid £7.98 for.
If fronting the money is the problem rather than the price, there is another way we sometimes do this. Ask us and we will tell you whether it suits you.
Figures assume you resell at £19.95; you set your own price, so your margin moves with whatever you charge. Whether you are under the VAT registration threshold is your position to check, not ours. This is general information, not tax or financial advice.
How it compares to a run of vinyl
A pack of 50 NF-CDs
- 50 cards, our smallest pack.
- £399 up front, VAT included.
- £7.98 a card, everything in.
- Back in profit after 20 cards.
A short run of vinyl
- 100 copies is the shortest run we could find a UK plant advertising; plenty will not go below 250 or 500.
- From about £820 up front.
- From about £8.20 a copy, and £9 to £12 once it is a finished release.
- Back in profit after 37 copies or more.
Per copy the two are close. The difference is what you have to commit and how many you then have to shift. A short run of vinyl asks for roughly twice the cash and twice the sales before you see any of it back. We are asking for £399 and twenty sales.
Vinyl figures are the published starting prices of UK plants offering short runs, checked September 2026; the lowest we found was from £820 for 100 copies of a 12 inch record, and those starting prices do not always state whether VAT is included. The £9 to £12 a copy figure is an independent trade estimate for a finished release including a printed sleeve, mastering, artwork and shipping. Break-even counts assume a £22.50 selling price for vinyl and £19.95 for a card. Prices and minimums vary by plant and by specification, so get your own quote. The NF-CD is a companion to a record, not a replacement for one.
